Car Import Requirements – Fiji
New Cars
You are allowed to import new cars into Fiji. However, we advise reviewing duties, Luxury Vehicle Tax, and ECAL before confirming your purchase.
Used Cars
Export Inspections:
Used cars require inspection by JEVIC before export.
Age Limits:
- Petrol/Diesel: Max 5 years old
- Electric, Hybrid, LPG, CNG: Max 8 years old
Import Limits:
Each individual may import up to two vehicles per year. Special approval from Fiji Customs is available upon request.
Required Documents:
- Passport
- Agricultural clearance
- Commercial invoice
- De-registration certificate
- Invoice for export/shipping/insurance costs
- Bill of Lading
- Odometer readings at sale and arrival
